School of Rock Encinitas and San Diego Show Casting FAQ

Where can I find the cast lists for the Season Shows?
Go to sorsdc.com, click on “Cast Lists” under the Students tab.

Can a student play multiple instruments in a show?
A student should only be cast on songs playing the same instrument that they take lessons for. If a student takes lessons in two instruments, half of their songs will be one instrument and the other half will be the other. Occasionally, there will be parts leftover that may be offered to students who don’t take lessons in that instrument, but that isn’t very common.

How many songs does a student get to play in a Season Show?
Every student, regardless of experience, starts off with the same number of songs (usually 1 or 2).

How can a student get more songs/parts?
To earn more parts, students must: 1. Have a great attendance record 2. Finish the parts they already have been assigned 3. Be a reliable band member and have a good attitude Students who do these things get rewarded with more stage time.

How are songs assigned to students?
Parts are assigned to a student to develop specific skills and/or to teach some other musical/artistic lesson.

Can a student request songs?
We don’t take requests, but we are always interested in what our students are listening to and are inspired by. We want to make sure every student is constantly growing and discovering new artists and styles.
